At 18:38hrs., the Mount Kisco Fire Department was dispatched to a structure fire on Maple Avenue. 45M1, of Westchester EMS was on scene immediately, confirming the fire. He then began evacuating the residents. Upon C2283's arrival, a 10-75 was transmitted. The rear of the building was fully involved from the first floor up through the attic. There was extension to the wooded area surrounding the home. Mount Kisco units quickly went to work, stretching four lines and raising several ground ladders. Upon their arrival, units from Bedford Hills assisted with ventilating. The Yorktown Heights FAS Team was called to the scene and crews from Katonah also assisted. Thanks to the Chappaqua Fire Departments assistance, air bottles were quickly filled on scene. Bedford Hills Engine 198 contained the brush fire from Manchester Drive. All occupants made it out of the building safely and were provided shelter by the Landlord. Two Mount Kisco Firefighters suffered minor injuries that were treated at the scene by Mount Kisco EMS and the Westchester EMS Medic.
The fire took place only hours before the annual Department Meeting, therefore making this fire Chief Bueti's "last hoorah!"
The Chappaqua and Millwood Fire Departments stood by at HQ to cover Mount Kisco.
